• Hallie motioned; Elizabeth seconded. Unanimously approved.

Treasury Report (Hallie)

• Previously met with budgeting consultation, like last year and considerations for budgets.

New Joining Member Acknowledgement (Michael)

• Hannah introduced herself from SDS.

T.M. proposed orientation for disability awareness for newcomers to campus as a resource with discussion; shared resources with Kristina Gordon who teaches the Intro course on campus.

Announcements / Updates:

• Regents Institutions Disability Summit October 26^th 11:30-1:15 (TM) – funded by DEI and hosted on rotation for Regent schools – UI’s turn this year. Registration required.
  • Tabling volunteers? – timeline 11:30 – 1:30. Logistics and sign-ups with Co-Chairs.
• ADA celebration & Sen Harkin visit (Bri) – change in plans -working with Sen Harkin’s team and UI Lecture series and honor with award; possible venue Senate Chambers and combine with ADA celebration.  More info to come. Considering three date options, in calendar year, but post-October.
• Adaptive rock-climbing clinic December 3^rd, call for volunteers (funding request) (Bri)
  • Paradox Sports providing clinic and training and adaptive climbing with training on 12/2.
  • Trying to secure funding and need amounts
  • T.M. and Elizabeth suggesting photographers and adds to CDA social media -Elizabeth requested photo releases and vetted through legal services.
• Hey Buddy, I'm Bill Exhibit now open at the Main Library! Gallery website information and visit planning (https://www.lib.uiowa.edu/gallery/) (Michael)
  •  Opening ceremony update & Rain Man with Barry Morrow viewing recap
    • Brad gave debrief about talk afterwards with stories about Bill and reactions from Barry and wife, Bev. Combined Efforts performed and virtual exhibit is in the works.
    • Next day, shared about making of Rain Man movie and inspirations for Raymond character.
• DEI “celebrations” website update for acknowledgements-Charles Taylor (Bri)

  • October is disability employment awareness month.
