I am the Digital Projects Librarian at the University of Iowa Libraries. I work in Special Collections & Archives. I primarily oversee the caption and transcription of our audio-video collections and am involved with the ingesting and processing of born-digital material. I have disabilities resulting from a stroke that occurred over a decade ago—hemiparesis and aphasia. Aphasia is a communication deficit that sometimes makes it difficult for me to find words. I also find it difficult to talk over background noise or other conversations.
