I became a member of CDA shortly after joining the UI REACH team this past fall.  Although new to the council, I have almost 10 years of experience in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.   I have several families members with varying disabilities and discovered my passion for this field while a student at the University of Iowa.  My education background is in Therapeutic Recreation and am a CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist). 

When asked what best disability-related practices or changes I would recommend to better our campus, my response would be Inclusion.  We need to continue to provide accommodations within the classroom, housing/dining, clubs/organizations, etc. so all individuals may be included and have the opportunity to participate as a University of Iowa student.
